The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Douye Diri to access a bank guarantee of N3.5billion necessary for 50% counterpart contribution to Universal Basic Education UBE projects.
Governor Diri explained in his request that in order to access the matching grants from the Federal Government Universal Basic Education, UBE, projects, the State Government was expected to contribute its quota of the 50% counterpart fund.

The Assembly consequently approved the sum of N3.5 billion being the State Government’s 50% counterpart contribution to the Universal Basic Education projects to enable us access outstanding grants for the 4th quarter of 2018, 2019 and 2020.
