As the economic situation in the country bites harder with some families not able to afford daily meals, a Non-governmental organisation has offered to distribute foodstuff to 60 less privileged families, including widows and widowers in Niger State.
The idea, according to the NGO, is to help alleviate their sufferings, and called on wealthy individuals and governments to come to the aid of the poor during this Holy month and beyond.
60-year-old Sule Chiroma, a widower for about 8 years now, is one of the beneficiaries of the gesture.
Chiroma, who also has 7 orphans in his care, has been a retired civil servant since 2017, and finds feeding difficult.

He told AIT online that the gesture did not come at any time better than now.
Also, 45-year-old widow, Amina Ahmed, like other beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to the founder of the NGO for putting smiles on their faces during this period.
