Nigerian Librarians have expressed concern over the non-completions of the National library edifice that has been under construction for over forty years.
President of the Nigerian Library Association, Dominic Omokaro says the Bola Tinubu administration must put machinery in motion to complete the edifice.
The association also expressed dismay at the employment of Non professionals by federal, state governments, and tertiary institutions

A school administrator, Phrank Shuabu says the non completion of the National Library complex was due to the lack of political will of Nigerian leaders.
National President of the Nigeria Library Association Dominic Omokaro agrees with Shuabu’s position adding that the non-completion of the National Library complex poses a threat to the survival of the Nigerian library system.
He debunked claims that the physical library system is gradually going into extinction in Nigeria due to the Internet search engine dominance in reading, learning, and research work
The construction of the national library complex began in 1982 during the tenure of President shehu shagari administration as one of Nigeria’s national heritage centres.
42 years after, the Edifice remains a relic.
Although the Buhari Administration approved funds from the tertiary education Trust Fund, TETFUND, completing the edifice remains only an illusion
