The people of omarelu Community in ikwerre local government area of rivers state have commended the Niger Delta development commission NDDC, for execution of the solar powered street lights project in their Community.
The people of omarelu stated this during the inauguration of the Solar Powered Street lights project.
The people omarelu Community, a community bordering imo state, rolled out the drums in celebration of the inauguration of the NDDC solar powered street lights in their community.

Their excitement stemmed from the fact that, the people have lived for years without electricity, hence the return of night life

The rivers state representative on NDDC board, Tony Okocha said the commission will not compromise on standards in the implementation of the NDDC light up Niger Delta policy, through solar powered street lights
Out of the fifty-two solar powered street lights projects in rivers state, the nddc has so far completed and Inaugurated three of such projects with Omaleru Community being the latest to be commissioned.
