The Federal Government is set to partner with the Kogi state government on livestock farming through significant investments.
The Co-Chairman of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, Prof. Attahiru Jega said this during a stakeholder’s engagement on livestock development in Lokoja Kogi State
The Co-Chairman of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee said that the strategic partnership is part of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to enhance livestock production, bolster food security, generate employment, and stimulate inclusive economic growth.
He commended the Kogi State Government for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development, positioning the State at the forefront compared to other states in the country.
Kogi Governor Usman Ododo, said the state has secured an agreement with an agricultural technology firm to spearhead the mechanization of feedstock cultivation both within the state and beyond.

The Kogi state Commissioner for Livestock Development, Olufemi Bolarin, noted that the stakeholder engagement was to provide innovative solutions for livestock development, fostering peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.
Members of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee said the advancement in livestock production will attract foreign direct investments and decrease unemployment, stimulate economic growth, and boost the nation’s economy.
