Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi is through to the quarter-finals of the 2022/2023 Federation Cup, following a 3-1 win over the junior team of Bendel Insurance of Benin City.
Lobi Stars came from behind to score all three goals, after Insurance shot into the lead in the opening quarter of the match, before a heavy downpour suspended play in the 40th Minute, with Lobi leading by two goals to one.

Lobi scored the third goal of the day from the spot on the resumption of play on Thursday morning, to show their superiority over the Insurance feeder team

Coach Stanley Osazee of Insurance of Benin, slammed the Imo State FA and match officials for not doing enough to have a fair game.
