The National President, of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employers, (NULGE) Akeem Ambali, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to intervene on the planned bill, to delist the local government system from the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
Ambali made the call,during the North Central Zone sensitization, held in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital, to brief his members on the latest development.

The NULGE leader called on President Buhari, to also direct the stoppage of the fiscal allocation to any state, that refused to conduct the local government elections.

Ambali also appealed to the President on the local government autonomy, which they want approved speedily, so that Local government will stand on their own without the interference by state government.

If the bill is not stopped the union says, it will have no option than to embark on a Nationwide protest, to press home their demand.
