Longest-serving Head of Customary Court in Nigeria retires, honoured

The people of Owhe kingdom, in Isoko North Local Government Area, have honoured the immediate past, President of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Stella Ogene, for her meritorious service to the state.

Ogene who was the longest serving Customary Court of Appeal President in Nigeria, was also a well known role model for the Girl-Child.

Reeling out the achievements of the Isoko-born retired Jurist, friends, and family members, described her as a force in Customary Judicial Administration in the country, after serving for twenty-one years as President of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal.

Guests at the occasion commended her leadership style, and the various reforms she introduced in the administration of the Customary Court system in the state.

High points of the event, was the conferment of a chieftaincy title, the Ugo of Otor-Owhe, on her to mark 22 years meritorious service in the Delta State Judiciary.

In her reaction, Justice Ogene expressed gratitude to the people and traditional leadership of Owhe kingdom, for bestowing such honour on her.
