Retired police officers in Kano State have threatened to embark on a massive nationwide protest if they are not removed from the Pension Contributory Fund and moved back to the National Pension Commission.
The retirees said they have been denied their pension and gratuities over years and called on the Federal Government to consider their plight.
They said despite giving their best during the days of their service to the nation, the federal government has chosen to treat them with disdain.
Regina Aliyu is one of the retirees struggling to survive, she retired 10 years ago and presently receives #30,000 monthly, as against her expected pension.
They also described the situation as unacceptable and called on the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba, to address the challenges faced by serving police officers
