The last day of the collection of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs recorded low turnout with over 6,000 yet to be claimed in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier extended the deadline on two occasions for the collection with additional one week ending on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Hundreds of uncollected PVCs were lying on tables at the INEC as no voters were sighted in some of the locations on the last day of the exercise.

AIT.live crew moved to the Garki Government School on Lagos Street where less than 15 registered voters were seen at the centre after the Sunday church service.
But some potential voters who came hoping to pick their PVCs to participate in the 2023 general elections were disappointed as they could not find their own.

The INEC officials also told AIT.live that the Commission may find another means to reach out to owners of the unclaimed PVCs after the deadline before the general elections.
In Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria, a visit across the local government areas showed that only scores of registered voters in Abakaliki, the state capital turned up to obtain their PVCs in a last-minute rush.

At Nkaliki, the Abakaliki Local Government Council, there was low turnout of registered voters with INEC personnel waiting at strategic places to attend to the people.
Though INEC officials were on hand to ensure a seamless process on the last day of the collection exercise, some of those who turned up were however disappointed for not finding their cards and want INEC to create a window for them to still obtain their PVCs
