Labour Party has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to thoroughly investigate what it described as impersonation of the Commission at the Court of Appeal Lagos that led to the adjournment of hearing in the case of involving Isikwato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, South-East Nigeria.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh made the call at a news briefing in Abuja, saying that the Court adjourned when two lawyers claimed to represent INEC at the commencement of the hearing.
The party called on the Commission to redeem its image after what played out during the 2023 general election, by rejecting any resemblance of compromise at the Court of Appeal Lagos.
The Labour Party is at the Court of Appeal after the Tribunal nullified the election of its candidate, Amobi Ogah to declare APC’s Nkiruka Onyejiocha winner of the Isikwato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency. Onyejiocha has since been appointed as Minister of State for Labour and Employment by President Bola Tinubu.
