Magu Probe Latest: Buhari Constitutes Justice Salami Panel To Judicial Commission Of Enquiry

President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the establishment of a Judicial Commission of Enquiry, to investigate the alleged financial impropriety and mismanagement of recovered assets, levelled against the suspended Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu by the Attorney General of the Federation and minister of Justice Abubakar Malami.

The letter approving the judicial panel dated July 3, 2020, was made available to Magu on Saturday, August 8.

The President named a 7-man panel, still headed by former Appeal Court President, 1,Justice Ayo Salami (rtd) – North Central (Kwara) as the Chairman.
Other members of the panel drawn from across the country are:
2,DIG Anthony Ogbizi Michael (Nigeria Police Force)- South-South – Deputy Chairman
3, Muhammad Abubakar Babadoko (Ministry of Justice)- North Central- Member,
4,Hassan Yahaya Abdullahi (DSS) – North Central (Member)
5,Muhammad Shamsuddeen (OAGF)- North West (Member)
6,Douglas Egweme (NFIU) – South-East (Member)
7,Barr Kazeem Attitebi – South-West – Secretary.

Sources close to the presidency, disclosed that the panel has been given 45 days to submit it’s report.

However it is not certain, if the number of days already spent by the panel so far, would be deemed as part of the 45-day timeline, as the panel has been sitting in private, barring journalists from covering its proceedings.
