The experts who unveiled the campaign as part of activities to mark the 2026 World Environment Day
raised concerns over land degradation, the growing dominance of imported seeds over indigenous varieties and the need for policies to guide Nigeria’s emerging renewable energy sector.

Environment experts have now launched the campaign raising concerns over land degradation, women inclusion in climate decision-making, the growing dominance of imported seeds over indigenous varieties, and the need for policies to guide Nigeria’s emerging renewable energy sector.
As this year’s World Environment Day is marked with the theme, ‘Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,’ stakeholders stressed that protecting the environment is a matter of survival, security and sustainable development.
