The Nigeria Police is investigating a case of a 23 years old man Iliyasu Mohammed who allegedly murdered his friend Safilahi Muhammed after luring him to his house for a meal.
Police operatives from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have already arrested the 23-year-old Iliayasu who resides in Dakwa in Abuja Municipal Area Council
Police relayed the bizarre story in a statement signed by the public Relations officer, FCT Police Command Josephine Adeh
Initial investigation indicate that the suspect lured the victim to his home, where he served him food and while the victim was eating, the suspect Mohammed Iliayasu attacked him with a cutlass, inflicting multiple injuries to the head and body.
On arrival at the scene of the incident, the Police found the victim unconscious in a pool of his own blood and rushed him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Inquiries revealed that Mohammed, the suspect is an ex-convict who confessed to the brutal murder of Safillahi Muhammad and disclosed his involvement in a criminal syndicate led by an individual named Hassan, who remains at large.
The police are actively on the trail of other members of the gang known for targeting motorcyclists.
