Five bandits’ leaders and 48 of their fighters have been reportedly killed in a series of violent clashes in Zamfara State.

They were said to have been killed by the Ado Aliero group.

The encounter took place on Sunday in Mada Village in Gusau Local Government, Yan Waren Daji, and Munhaye in the Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA), where some bandits who came from Katsina State, launched attacks on Zamfara communities.

The action was initiated by the Dogo Bali and Kachallah Mai Yankuzu groups, leading to several casualties, including the leader, Dogo Bali, who had orchestrated the initial attack.

ait.live gathered that Dogo Bali’s retaliatory attack from other rival factions triggered a counter attack, in which the group advanced into the forest area from Hayin Alhaji to Munhaye, in the Tsafe LGA, seeking vengeance for Bali’s demise.

Kachalla Mai Yankuzu, in response, reached out to Ado Aliero, who quickly assembled hundreds of fighters, preparing them for the confrontation.

However, on their arrival at the Yan Ware camp in Tsafe, they were caught in a deadly ambush laid by Aliero’s forces.

The gunbattle was said to have lasted for several hours, during which Ado Aliero’s group eventually killed numerous fighters, including four prominent bandit leaders, namely, Dan Makaranta, Malam Gainaga, Mallam Tukur, and Malam Jaddi.

The injured fighters were taken to a clinic in Mada Village for treatment.
