As Nigerian workers mark May Day, President of the senate Godswill Akpabio has reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th National Assembly to prioritising the welfare, security, and working conditions of workers across the country.

He gave this assurance while pledging that labour friendly legislations will receive the attention they rightly deserve under his leadership.

Akpabio further promised that workers’ rights would be fully protected and respected, stressing that no Nigerian worker will be victimised for speaking out, demanding their rights, or seeking legal redress during his tenure.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President acknowledged the dedication and hard work of Nigerian workers.

He commended their unwavering commitment to national development, resilience, and diligence, even amidst ongoing socio-economic challenges.

He also assured that the National Assembly will continue to collaborate closely with the Executive to address workers’ concerns and create more opportunities for inclusive growth and prosperity.
