Some senior Media Executives across Nigeria have acknowledged the developmental strides of the Benue State Government under the leadership of State Governor Hyacinth Alia.
The senior media executives were led by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Tope Ajayi as well as the president, Nigeria Guild of Editors Eze Anaba.
Specal Adviser to the President’ on information Bayo Onanuga leads this high profile media team comprising of heads of agencies and media outfits on this tour of projects in Makurdi the State capital.
The team begins its facility tour here at the State owned beer factory known as Zeva beer as well as the State textile industry. They are shown round by the group managing director of the State investment and Property Company Limited BIPC Raymond Asemakaha.
The media executives then proceed to the State university teaching hospital
where they are given facility tour by medical director, Dr Stephen Hwande.
At the LGEA primary school kilometre 2 Gboko road which is now upgraded, the seasoned communicators naturally interacted with the pupils.
The team then proceeds to State juice factory, then to the Benue printing and publishing corporation as well as the State fashion hub and then the urban city”s first underpass.
They winded down at the Government house where they attended a town hall meeting with stakeholders from the Government, women and youth groups, labour and trade unions, religious and traditional leaders as well as CSO’s at the new banquet hall of the Government house.
Various groups equally shared thier thoughts on the level of development witnessed under the Hyacinth Alia led administration.
Responding Governor Alia said he was encouraged by the positive feedback to do more.
High point of the event was the dressing of top media executives in the Tiv, Idoma and Igede attire with the chief Executive of the State handing them indigenous names
A minute silence was observed for the veteran Benue born journalist late Dan Agbese who passed away in November last year at the age of 81.
