The Nigerian Medical Association has given the Federal Government a two-month ultimatum to address their hazard allowance issues or face industrial action by the end of October.

The medical body also called on the Abia state government to pay outstanding allowances to doctors or risk a total shutdown of medical services in the state.

The warning was given in Gombe at a three-day meeting of medical personnel from all parts of the country to deliberate on burning issues that affect their members.

It also expresses worry over the state of insecurity in the country which is hampering healthcare efforts.
