The Nigerian government has called for a de-escalation as the situation in the Middle East seemmingly deteriorates, following the strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran and the retaliatory action.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds that the Nigerian government says that the parties must strive for peaceful resolution of the nuclear armament debacle.
Nigeria, the statement adds, has asked its nationals in Iran and other countries in the Middle East region to
maintain constant vigilance and avoid areas known to be strategic, military, or government installations.
Also, Nigerians in the region are to restrict non-essential movement and travel within the countries until the security situation becomes clearer and stabilizes.

Nigerians out there are also strongly advised to strictly comply with all security and safety directives issued by the local authority and keep abreast of news and updates from reliable international and local news sources.
Also, the statement adds that Nigerians are to establish communication with the Nigerian Embassies in Tehran, Iran, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
