Military promises to be apolitical, professional during 2023 elections

Nigeria's Defence Headquarters

Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters says soldiers and officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces will be apolitical and professional during the 2023 eections.

Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor gave the assurance while recieving the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA during its visit to Defence Headquarters.

General Irabor also said with recent successes recorded, the military will gradually reduce its involvement in internal security affairs, adding that the military may not be perfect in its entirety but it is working towards achieving professional excellence.

The NBA president, Yakubu Maikyau commended the Armed Forces for what he described as its commitment in protecting the nation and paid tributes to military personnel who lost their lives in service

General irabor says the military may not be perfect in its entirety but it is working towards achieving professional excellence.
