The remaining 23 abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers have regained their freedom after 189 days in terrorists captivity.
They were among 62 passengers taken hostage by Boko Haram-ISWAP terrorists who attacked the train conveying them from Abuja to Kaduna on March 28, 2022.
The seven-member Presidential Committee assembled by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor secured the release of the 23 hostages on Wednesday at about 4pm local time
Secretary of Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, Professor Usman Yusuf in a statement says “all sister security agencies and the Federal Ministry of Transportation contributed immensely to this operation”.
