The Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Air Vice Marshall Ebenezer Alade has said the Nigerian Armed Forces can achieve standardisation of military equipment if the country can establish a developed and effective defence industrial complex for the procurement of equipment.
Alade stated this at the end of the Defence and Security Symposium for Students of Senior Course 43 in Jaji.
The thrust of the service papers presented by the students focused on collaborative defence and standardisation of military equipment in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The research paper provided policy direction that can help Nigeria address some of the national security challenges, currently confronting the nation.
Alade confirmed the submissions of the students are good enough.
He said the submission will also enhance the standardisation and operationability in the procurement of military equipment for the Armed Forces.
Air Vice Marshall Alade however noted that a well-developed and the standardized national military-industrial complex is required to increase collaboration among the services and improve local capabilities.
