Three soldiers serving under the Nigerian military Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, in North East Nigeria, who have distinguished themselves through acts of gallantry, bravery, professionalism and good conducts, have been presented with allocation certificates of Affordable Homes.

This is coming under the Affordable Homes Ownership Option for All Soldiers, (AHOOAS) Scheme.

The scheme which the Theatre Command keyed into, was part of the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, to alleviate one of the main problems soldiers face in post service life.

The Theatre Commander, Major General Waidi Shaibu, who held a mid-year Durbar with soldiers, drawn from formations and units across the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI, was well attended with about 380 participants.
Durbar, is a routine activity in the military, and an avenue for soldiers to have, one-on-one interaction with their leadership.

The Theatre Commander also hosted the soldiers to dinner, whose main highlight was the presentation of allocation certificates, to the beneficiaries of, Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme, (AHOOAS).

“The AHOOAS is a home-grown housing programme meant to ensure that soldiers are able to afford a befitting roof over their heads after successful service to the Nation.”

The selected beneficiaries were adjudged to have been consistent in the ways they have handled assigned tasks, especially in combat situations, during the recently rounded up dry season operation.
