Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed says more reforms are needed in Nigeria’s mining sector.
The Governor said this when the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Ogah, who was on a working tour to the state visited him at Government House.
Recall that mining and related activities are on the Exclusive List , and as such, is under the purview of the federal government.
However, Governor Bala Mohammed believes, there is no way, the authorities at the center can maximally harness the huge mineral deposits across the states of the federation.

The Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah said that the Buhari administration sees collaboration as vital and would continue to exploit it.
The Minister had earlier visited some of the mining sites in Rishi, Toro local government area to asesss the state of mining activities in the state
