Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri says the people of the Niger-Delta region are yet to feel the impact of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development and therefore calls for inclusiveness in the areas of budget preparation, policy making, and implementation to enable them to have a sense of belonging.
The Governor stated this when he played host to the Minister of the Niger Delta Development, Abubakar Momoh, who believes that the new partnership between the states in the region and his Ministry will bring an end to some of the issues plaguing the region.

One of such issues is the years-long uncompleted and deplorable state of the East-West Road. The Minister however says his visit is to seek the collaboration of the State to tackle the challenges of underdevelopment in the region.
The Governor again calls for immediate completion of the East-West Road which has become a death trap for motorists and travellers
Diri did not fail to commend President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of sons of the region, including Abubakar Momoh, and Samuel Ogbuku as the substantive Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
