Nigeria’s Maristella Okpala has won the best National Costume Award at the Miss Universe 2021 contest held in Israel.
Okpala strutted the runway in a regalia inspired by the famous traditional masquerade of Nigeria’s Mmwana tribe in the south east.
The ensemble consisted a beaded head dress and an intricate tribal mask with a colorful ancient cape.
The winning costume was made by Filipino fashion student Kennedy John Gasper.
Meanwhile, the contestant from India Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned the winner of the Miss Universe.
