The Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore says its members will not participate in the planned nationwide protests against hunger and hardship scheduled for August 1, 2024.
National President of the association, Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo said this during a media conference in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State, North-Central Nigeria.
The decision of certain Nigerians to embark on a protest has been a concern to the government, groups and individuals.
Bello-Bodejo said, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is not going to support the planned protest scheduled to take place next month.
He rather noted their preference for peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement with the authorities to make life better for citizens
The group also praised the recent establishment of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development by the President Bola Tinubu administration,
and urged the public to remain patient and supportive of the current leadership.
The body urged the organisers of the nationwide protest to reconsider their decision emphasising that the protests could destabilise the country and harm innocent citizens.
