The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has emphasised the need for stronger collaboration and knowledge sharing among military schools across Nigeria to enhance the quality of military education.
He made this call at the 71st anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria, in Kaduna State.
It was a colourful display of military drills and regimental precision as the boys of the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, marked the school’s 71st anniversary in grand style.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, who served as the reviewing officer, inspected the parade in line with military tradition.

He commended NMS for upholding the ethos and discipline of military training over the years and praised its contribution to grooming future leaders for service in various fields.
The Air Chief reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to supporting the school and emphasised that collaboration among military schools is crucial for improving training standards and strengthening the nation’s defense education system.
Also speaking at the event, the President of the NMS Ex-Boys Association, Sunday Ngegu, reaffirmed the association’s support for the school.
He noted that sustained infrastructure development and stakeholder backing would elevate NMS into a globally respected military training institution.
To mark the occasion, Air Marshal Abubakar also commissioned several new facilities at the Nigerian Military School as part of activities commemorating its 71st anniversary.
