The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa has been tasked to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Nigerian music artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, who died recently in Lagos.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, said the Nigeria Police Force is committed to a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Adejobi assures that updates will be provided as investigations unfold.
The statement also read that, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and fans of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, who recently passed away. We understand the concerns regarding his untimely demise.
“We encourage family members or close associates with valuable information to approach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to assist in this process.

In the meantime, the police has requested that individuals refrain from making statements or engaging in activities that could jeopardise the ongoing investigation saying “Your trust and support are deeply valued”.
In June 2023, the multi-talented artiste had petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID over threat to life, damage of property, assault occasioning harm, oppression and conduct likely to cause breach of peace against SamLarry Elegushi, Elele, Obele amongst others.
Till his death, the petition was still pending for action by the police.
