The All Progressives Congress at Wednesday’s plenary in the House of Representatives, received three additional members from the Peoples Democratic Party and one from the Labour Party to its fold.
House Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, who made the announcement while reading the respective notification letters from the lawmakers at the resumption of proceedings gave the names of the defecting PDP lawmakers as follows:
Inuwa Garuba- Yamaltu/Deba federal constituency of Gombe State
Abdullahi El-Rasheed- Dakku/Nafada federal constituency of Gombe State
Mohammed Audu- Karim Lamido Lau/Ardo-Kola federal constituency of Taraba State
The Peoples Democratic Party lost another member representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu federal constituency of Osun state, Adewale Adebayo, to Accord Party.
The only surviving federal lawmaker on the platform of the Labour Party in the Federal Capital Territory, representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari constituency, Chinedu Obika, also moved to the All Progressives Congress.
The lawmakers blamed the lingering internal crises in their former political parties for their defection.
