The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arraigned the immediate-past Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, before a Federal Capital Territory High Court over an alleged N4.1bn fraud in connection with the botched Nigerian Air project between April 2022 and March 2023.
Sirika is arraigned on six count charge alongside his daughter, Fatimah, and two others before Justice Sylvanus Oriji
They all pleaded not guilty to the charge .
Defence counsel, Kanu Agabi in a bail application is asking the court for a favourable response based on self recognition of the former minister. an application strongly opposed by the prosecutor, Rotimi Jacobs.
Justice Oji granted bail in the sum of hundred million naira each with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties will also declare to an affidavit and if all conditions are not met the defendants are to be remanded in prison pending when bail conditions are met .
