The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed the receipt of Apa letter from the former Nigerian Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouk requesting for an extension of time from the anti-graft agency for her appearance.
The EFCC’s spokesperson who confirmed this to ait.live on a telephone conversation said the request for the extension of time by the ex minister before making appearance was on health grounds.
The EFCC had invited the former Minister to answer questions on an ongoing probe into an alleged laundering of over 37 billion Naira during her tenure through a contractor, James Okwete who had long been arrested by operatives of the EFCC and revelations by him so far has indicted the former Minister and top government officials in the President Mohammadu Buhari administration, including Directors-General who served under her.
