Gombe State Government assures it has set up the machinery for implementation of the new N70,000 National Minimum Wage for its workers.
According to the State Head of Service, Ahmed Abdullahi, the State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya is conscious of the needs of the workers as such would commence payment of the new wage structure once the template from the Federal Government is approved.
Abdullahi said for now, the State Government would continue to assist the workers with the payment of N10,000 Wage Award with its monthly wage.

This was the highlight of the Tripartite meeting between the State Government and Labour unions in the state where they shared what was discussed.
This is coming amid reports that Governor Yahaya had said the State Government cannot pay the new N70,000 minimum wage. The Labour leaders however stated the new minimum wage would be paid after the approval of the template by the Federal Government.
