The kwara state command of the nigeria customs service has seized 2 vehicles conveying 3,593 kilogrames of cannabis sativa also known as marijuana.
The items worth N443 million were seized in bukuro, Nigeria-Benin republic border in Baruten local government area of Kwara state.

Addressing newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, area commander, Hussein Ahmed who confirmed the seizure however said no suspect was arrested as they took to their heels before they could be arrested
Hussein descibes the development as unfortunate and noted that the seized cannabis will be handed over to the national drug law enforcement agency, NDLEA
The command also seized 953 bags of illegally imported foreign rice; 4,357 bags of poisonous mosquito coil; 16 vehicles and 184 kegs of premium motor spirit, all valued at N448 million.
