The Beneficiaries of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme and agro- Pocket (NAGS) at Bauchi Redemption center have accused personnel in charge of the distribution of subsidized Farm inputs to Farmers in Bauchi for deliberate sabotaging the scheme for the 2024 wet season farming by diverting the inputs to Marketers.
The angry small holder Farmers stated this at the venue of the distribution of the farm inputs, calling on the authorities to investigate the distribution process.
The scheme is an initiated Federal government support programme for enhanced access to quality and affordable Agricultural inputs targeting About Five million small holder farmers in Nigeria.
The inputs are certified seeds of heat tolerant wheat, drought tolerant maize, high yielding rice and soybean varieties, fertilizer and agro-chemicals
The beneficiaries have lost patience with the officials responsible for the distribution of the inputs, accusing them of selling the inputs to marketers ignoring the genuine beneficiaries.
Inside the store, several farm inputs were seen and some beneficiaries were also seen collecting the inputs.
The officer in charge of the Redemption center was not on seat to speak on the allegations levelled against them.
However, one of the officials, speaking in Hausa, denied the accusations made by the beneficiaries.
