Two commercial banks in the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State were on Wednesday morning attack by angry youths over the Naira scarcity.
The Automated Teller Machines, ATMS of the banks were vandalized, with one of them set ablaze.
Bank workers and some customers who were at the bank for morning transactions were said to have fled the scene before the riot broke out.
Bonfires were set at various junctions, particularly the ever-busy Orhuwhorun expressway.
Some protesters who spoke to AIT have described their situation as pathetic due to the lack of money.
At the time of filling this report, tension was brewing in the area, but a combined team of security operatives was seen patrolling around the hot spots to disperse the protesters.
