The South East Zone of the National Association of the Nigerian Students has given the Federal government 9 days ultimatum to end the ongoing nation wide ASUU strike or be ready to face its action.

The warning is contained in a statement signed by the chief media aide to the students coordinator Comrade Orji Onyinyechi Lilian.
According to the statement, failure to resolve the lingering problem within or at the expiration of the ultimatum the students will be forced to take drastic measures to include blocking of the Niger Bridge and closure of all the existing three airports in the South East, Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri, Anambra Passenger and Cargo International Airport from the 20th to 25th of May 2022.
The students argued that the recent decision by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities ASUU to extend the already three months old strike to another three months is unacceptable and they will no longer keep quiet.
The statement appealed to the Nigerian government and other relevant authorities to show commitment to the oath of protecting the interest and welfare of Nigerians and Nigerian Students which they swore to.
