The National Association of Nigerian Students’ has issued a 2-week ultimatum to the Federal Gornment to begin the renovation of the dilapidated Numan-Jalingo Road.
The Students’ Union also wants the Nigerian government to identify sources of illegal small arms and light weapons and curtail their circulation in the interest of peace and security in the Country.
NANS made the demands when its executive members conferred the title of the Grand Patron of the National Association of Nigerian Students on the Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas in Jalingo, Taraba State.
He was conferred with the title in recognition of his contributions to free and affordable education in the state.
The meeting is in recognition of the governor’s achievements, especially in providing free education in public primary and secondary schools, as well as a fifty percent subsidy in the tuition fees of all tertiary institutions.
NANS therefore, passed a vote of confidence on Governor Kefas and called on other State Governors to emulate his good deeds in the education sector
Governor Agbu Kefas said his government will continue to initiate policies to support education and empower the youths in the state.
