A heavy gas leakage has grounded academic activities at the Federal College of Education Technical Omoku in Ogba Egbema Ndon Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The leaking gas pipeline which passes underground through the college campus linking the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas NLNG is said to be owned by the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC.
The underground pipeline started spilling its contents heavily into the air and around the school environment on Friday last week.
Speaking to ait.live, President of the Institution’s Students Union Government, Adiela Success, says the incident has been reported to Agip but there has been no positive response yet.
