The Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja has claimed victory in the 2024 Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship (NASAC) held at the Jaji Military Range in Kaduna.

The Army HQ team secured the win with an impressive total of 2,085 points, outperforming eight other formations.

The five-day NASAC 2024 came to a close with an intense showcase of military skills as soldiers from nine formations demonstrated precision and tactical expertise across a variety of demanding drills.

The championship, aimed at sharpening marksmanship and enhancing field skills, featured numerous competitive events such as snap shooting, deliberate shooting, time rapid and fire movement, pistol practices, general-purpose machine gun handling, and both battle and falling plate marksmanship.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, represented by Major General Kelvin Aligbe, Commander of Training and Doctrine, praised the competitors for their commitment, describing their performances as satisfactory and highlighting the event’s success in achieving training objectives.
