Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Lafia has fixed 26 June, 2025 for judgment in the case of Timileyin Ajayi, the alleged killer of Salome Adaidu, a female corps member.
Justice Simon Aboki fixed the date during Monday’s proceedings after counsel to the Prosecution and Defendant adopted their final written addresses.
Upon resumption of sitting after the trial judge had earlier stood down the matter when the case was mentioned to enable the Defense counsel to announce appearance in Court due to his lateness.
The defense lawyer, Joseph Tuku Bisson subsequently adopted his final written address and prayed the Court to discharge and acquit Timilehin Ajayi for failure of the Prosecution to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt that Timilehin killed Salome Adaidu.

In his response, the Prosecution counsel, Joseph Kigbu while adopting his final written address urged the presiding judge to discountenant the prayer of the defendant and give mandatory punishment to the defendant as enshrined in the law.
In his ruling, Justice Simon Aboki commended all the counsel involved in the matter for their resilience in pursuing justice and adjourned the case for 26th of June for final judgment.
In an interview, the prosecution Counsel, Joseph Kigbu expressed satisfaction with the ongoing trial.
For his part, Counsel to Timilehin Ajayi, Joseph Tuku, said he sought for two reliefs from the Court to ensure that due process is followed in the prosecution of the case.
