Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule has said there is no going back on his administration’s commitment to foster peace in crisis-prone areas, particularly Afo, a community in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The governor said this in Keffi during a one-day Youth Summit on Peace and Security, with the theme “Building Bridges: Innovative Approaches to Conflict Prevention and Resolution”. The Governor commended the initiative and urged youths to shun violence and embrace unity.

Ahmed Salihu, Executive Director of the Center for Community Actions for Peace and Development, presented a paper analyzing the crises in the Afo community in the state, emphasizing the role of religious harmony in averting conflict.

Former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, also addressed participants, underscoring the value of sustainable peace.

The summit concluded with calls for collaborative efforts to ensure lasting peace and security in Afo community in particular and the state at large.
