Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says he is deeply concerned about the emergence of a new splinter terror group identified as the Wulowulo in North-Central Nigeria.
The Governor who said this during an expanded security meeting in Lafia, noted that intelligence reports indicate that the Wulowulo group, as a faction of the Boko Haram sect, is gradually emerging in parts of the North Central, particularly in Kwara State.
Governor Sule emphasised the need for vigilance to prevent the infiltration of extremist elements into Nasarawa State while directing a full-scale investigation into the recent killings in Kokona Local Government Area.
The Governor also expressed worry over a violent clash in Ndama village of Kokona Local Government Area, where seven people lost their lives in a land dispute between the Mada and Ninzom communities.

He therefore directed the Commissioner of Police and State Director of the Department of State Services, DSS to commence full investigation into the incidents.
Governor Sule further decried the rising cases of abduction in Lafia and Karu local government areas, urging security agencies to intensify efforts and adopt new strategies to curb the menace.
The Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, alongside the Nasarawa State police Commissioner, told the expanded security meeting that all newly deployed officers would undergo specialised training to strengthen operations and enhance response to security threats across the state.
Governor Sule reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the maintenance of peace, safety of lives and property, and sustenance if Nasarawa’s record as one of the safest states in the country.
