Nasarawa Governor visits three IDPs camps after deadly herders attacks

Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule addresses IDPs in camp

Governor Abdullahi Sule says he is not happy over the lingering conflict between Tiv farmers and Fulani herders in Nasarawa State, North-Central Nigeria and is restrategising to find lasting solutions to the violence.

The Governor said this when he visited three internally displaced persons camps in Doma, Keana and Obi Local Government Areas.

The recent attack led to the loss of lives and displacement of about 3,000 people from 25 communities in the Tiv settlements.

The Governor who visited the three camps advised parties involved in the violence to avoid been used by desperate politicians for selfish interests to cause disunity.

Sule noted that farmlands have been destroyed and many displaced children out of school because of the clashes and he promised to return all the affected Tiv people to their ancestral homes.

Relief materials were provided by the Governor to cushion the sufferings of displaced people in the camps while other plans are being perfected for their return home.
