The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State says it will file an appeal at the Supreme Court to seek a fair review of the Court of Appeal judgment which set aside the tribunal verdict that sacked Governor Abdullahi Sule and declared David Ombugadu as the winner of the March 18 Governorship election.

In a statement issued in Lafia, Nasarawa state chairman of the PDP, Francis Orogu described the appeal court judgment as a temporary setback.

Francis Orogu said the party after careful consideration and consultation with its legal team disagrees with the judgment of the Court of Appeal that invalidated the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal, which declared its candidate, David Ombugadu, as the duly elected Governor.

The state chairman of the PDP urged teeming supporters, party faithful, and the public to remain calm and maintain confidence in the democratic institutions and the nation’s judicial system.

It further stated that the struggle for justice is one that requires resilience and patience thus the PDP in Nasarawa State remains resolute in its commitment to the principles of democracy and the pursuit of justice for the people.
