The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has called on members of the National Assembly, to see the challenges in the petroleum industry beyond ethnic issues but as a national challenge confronting Nigeria as a whole.

The governor proposed the imposition of penalties, assuring that oil and gas companies can afford to pay such penalties.

According to Sule, the challenge posed by the prevailing insecurity has the potential to hinder Nigeria from harnessing its rich oil reserves, thus affecting her OPEC production quota.

Other speakers include the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello, former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe, as well as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
