Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved an allocation of 5% of new employment slots in the state civil service to Persons With Disability (PWDs).
The news is contained in a statement released by the state Head of Service, Abigail Waya.
Waya said the move became necessary in line with the commitment of the Sule-led administration and recognition of the importance of providing equal opportunities for all residents of the state.
The Head of Service said the governor had already directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to adjust their future recruitment exercises accordingly to align with the new employment directive.

She, however, said that the PWDs must have the necessary academic qualifications for the vacancies that exist.
Waya says the directive is in line with the Domesticated Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Act of the state signed in 2018.
