Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, says the prompt action by management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to finalize arrangement for the distribution of power from the Akurba 330Kva substation is commendable.

Governor Sule gave the commendation when he hosted a high level inspection team from the head office of the AEDC in Abuja at the Nasarawa Government House in Lafia.

For years now some parts of Nasarawa state has suffered epileptic power supply.

Following complaints by the state, the governor described the arrival of the AEDC team as the fastest response since the administration started making contacts to expedite action to complete the project.

The team, led by Samaila Jibrin, arrived barely 24 hours after his fact-finding visit to the Abuja office of the power company.

According to him, the Akurba substation is about to be completed, with conductors and couplets being awaited already on ground, an indication that the substation can be powered.

The Governor however noted that, his administration was concerned about the capacity and readiness of AEDC to distribute power across the state, hence the need to visit the head office of the company in Abuja.

Leader of the AEDC inspection ,Samaila Jibrin, promised to set up a high level inspection team, in order to update the company on all that is required to have successful transmission of power after the commissioning of the Akurba power substation.

The Lafia 330 kva power substation is expected to be commissioned before the end of this year.
