Nasarawa Insecurity: Police Arrest 17 Suspected kidnappers

POLICE

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested seventeen suspected kidnappers and seven other criminals in the state.

The police spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the development while speaking to journalists in lafia the Nasarawa state capital

In all a total of about twenty-four criminal suspects were arrested for commiting various crimes in the state.

Preliminary investigation revealed that about seventeen suspected kidnappers , five suspected armed robbers and 2 cattle rustlers were allegedly responsible for series of kidnapping and other criminal activities along Nasarawa Eggon – Akwanga road and other parts of the state.

Nansel explained that a joint operation of the police , military and vigilante paid off.

Nansel noted that four locally-fabricated guns and rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

Also the Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi Sule commended security agencies in the state for a job well done and urged them to sustain the tempo to rid the state of criminals.

Sule donated about thirty-four vehicles and one hundred and thirty-one motorcycles to the security agencies to enhance their performance in curtaining the activities of criminals in the state.
