Nasarawa Police Achieve Breakthrough In Car Theft, Arrest Syndicate

Police in Nasarawa State have busted a notorious car snatching syndicate in the state few hours after a car was stolen.

In a statement by the state Police Command, the four-member syndicate were arrested on Sunday along Doma-Lafia Road following a tip-off received by the police.

The police also named the arrested car thieves as Ibrahim Dahiru, Abdulrazaq Muhammed, Muhammad Sani and Mustapha Isa from Plateau, Yobe and Bauchi States

They were said to have hijacked a black Toyota Venza vehicle in Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria, at gunpoint.

The Nasarawa police command commended the interstate collaboration that led to the arrest of the gang members.

The statement further quotes state Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed as describing the arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against organized vehicle theft, emphasizing that the Command remains resolute in ensuring that criminal activities are swiftly dealt with and perpetrators brought to book.

He further commended the efforts of the operatives involved in the operation and reassured members of the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state.

The suspects are still in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the full scope of their criminal network and recover other stolen property, if any.
